Veterinarian in Northern Virginia, Rocky Deutsch, pursued his high school studies from O’Connell High School located in Arlington. This school is a catholic co-educational community and promote the pursuit of personal excellence. The school helps students in the complete development of the human person including the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social and physical aspects. Dedication to academic excellence is an important part of the school’s identity as a Catholic school.
In September 1981, he enrolled at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in June 1985. Later, in October 1985, Rocky Deutsch became staff veterinarian for an after-hours emergency clinic located in Newport News, Virginia and handled both emergency surgical and medical cases till May 1986. Besides this, in May 1986, he became the owner and manager of the Burke Veterinary Clinic and worked there as a staff veterinarian till April 2008.
Prior to this, in September 1975, Rocky Deutsch attended Virginia Tech University and in June 1980, received his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. This university was established in 1872 but it was originally founded as a mechanical and agricultural land-grant college. Presently, Virginia Tech provides 215 graduate and undergraduate degree programs to over 30,000 students. The university completes its mission of transforming knowledge to practice with the help of technological leadership, nourishing economic growth and job creation regionally, locally and around Virginia.
In addition to this, he has also spent his college summers working at a cattle ranch in Texas, working on a dairy farm, working as a full-time veterinary technician in several small animal hospitals located in Northern Virginia and has collected immense experience treating many animals there. Besides this, during the time he served as a staff veterinarian at the Tidewater Emergency Clinic in Newport News, Virginia, Rocky Deutsch gained immense experience in critical, emergency care medicine and surgery.
